Land Research Confluence - August 3rd in Dawson city

The Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Fish and Wildlife Branch, Natural Resources Canada, Yukon University, the University of Alberta, and Wildlife Conservation Society Canada are excited to invite you to the first annual Land Research Confluence in Dawson City at Äłät Nëhëjël (TH Community Hall) on August 3rd, 2023 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.

The intent of the Land Research Confluence is to respect, understand, and celebrate ways of knowing in environmental research and monitoring on Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Traditional Territory.

Environmental researchers working in Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Traditional Territory are invited to share and discuss their research with Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in citizens and the community of Dawson.

This event was motivated by the need for researchers to listen, learn, and share with community to ensure that local people are informed and involved in research that affects them.

Developing and nurturing dialogue and relationships between researchers and community can help ensure that community priorities and values are reflected in research, and that reciprocal benefits are acknowledged and realized.

If you are interested in sharing your research:
1. Please review the presenter guidelines
2. Fill out this google form before 9:00 pm Yukon time on July 20, 2023
